
Come experience the sights and sounds of our Christmas wonderland with over 3 million lights decorating Hulen Park in Cleburne, Texas. “Spectacular!”... ”Enchanting!”... “Delightful!”... are just a sampling of the descriptions heard from visitors to the park every Christmas! Commemorating its 12th -Year Anniversary, Whistle Stop Christmas celebrates the season in 2008! The Yuletide celebration begins November 24th with the lighting of over 3 million lights at Hulen Park that are turned on each evening through New Year's Eve.
Friday, December 5, the festivities begin with the annual Christmas parade in downtown Cleburne. After the parade, bring your children to Hulen Park to sit on Santa’s lap and have their pictures made with Santa and Mrs. Claus. There will also be live entertainment by a community choir, representing area churches, singing Christmas music. Adding to the fun will be food and gift vendors, and kids of all ages will be able to blow the whistle on the historic 3417 Steam Engine. The next day, December 6, view historic Cleburne at the Candlewalk Tour of Homes. Several homes, built in the 1800’s and early 1900’s, of varying architectural styles, have been restored to their original charm. These homes are decorated for the holidays and open for the public to tour.
Throughout the holiday season, both of Cleburne’s live theater groups will be presenting holiday plays.Carnegie Players production of the beloved classic "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe," comes to life at the Carnegie Theatre. The Plaza Theatre Company is presenting "A Christmas Carol" in downtown Cleburne.
Whistle Stop Christmas' 12th -Year Anniversary celebration promises to turn the most hardened Grinch and Scrooge into the jolliest of Kris Kringles. Mark your calendars and enjoy the holidays with us!
